New Journey

Every  journey includes mountaintops and valleys.  Have you experienced the “valley”?  Those times in between our mountaintop experiences. The mountaintop is when we feel, as though, we are on top of the world and nothing can stop us.  When everything is going right for us.  Sometimes these mountaintops and valleys are short-lived and other times we feel as though we will never get out of the valley.  I’ve had both.  Consider every valley  a rich experience full of learning and opportunity.  An opportunity to go forward or go back. An opportunity to really find out what we are made of and what the inspiration behind our journey is.

For me, my journey started with a  dream.    More like a desire of my heart.  I knew that one day I would own a fitness studio, but I didn’t know what that looked like.  God gave me many opportunities and many places to work along the way.   Building up my character as I went through the valleys and reached mountaintops in my experiences.

The Mountaintop

Most recently ( the last several months) I felt I was on the path of finally owning my own Pilates studio.  I did  due diligence on the Pilates studio that I was contracting out of.  It seemed to fall into my lap with ease.   Since I am a personal trainer, as well, I felt this would be a great opportunity to finally bring all my clients to one place.  As a matter of fact, it would only work if I could do that.

The Valley

Everything was going as planned.  However, along the way I saw red flags but ignored them.   The same day that I received my loan was the same day I was to sign the lease . At the last-minute, the landlord informed me, by email,  that I could not bring both businesses into the same space.  So what he had verbally agreed to, was no longer an option for me.  Deal Finished…in the Valley.

Thank God for a well-timed planned vacation!

When I came back from vacation, a gal that I was previously in touch with, called me and said that I could contract out of her space. To make a long story short, within a month she told me that she was moving out of the city and that the space was mine if I wanted it.

For years I have worked very hard on training skills and have developed a business plan so that  when the opportunity to actually own a studio came to fruition, I would be ready.  I’m ready!

I don’t believe in “luck” but I like this quote, “Luck Is What Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity”.  Seneca

Don’t give up on your God-given dream.  I don’t mean just any dream,  I’m talking about something that you absolutely have to do and that you’re passionate about, something unexplained.  Keep moving forward. I’m looking forward to some awesome experiences on my new journey!
